Hi! A few words, just as your music is to me. Few words but an intense experience. Your last CD Espacios, is minimal. I have the felling that your music is now, a little more abstract, I miss a bit your stories, but Espacios is a great direct way to the notes! Specially, De Fragilidad is an esencial touch to soul, thanks a lot!

Refreshing Modern Classical Music !
Talking about modern classical music in our new XXI Century is not easy. We have gone through many changes in music history and inherited many personal genres and subgenres. Darian Stavans offers refreshing chamber musical dialogues that resume counterpoint and harmony as well as good taste, refine moods and superb artistic techniques. It's a "sigh" in modern music.

CD " Noir et Blanc "
A Masterpiece!
This CD is a masterpiece. The music content is just amazing and how Darian Stavans drives us through this "soulfulness" musical river is a unique experience. It's a 40 minutes one track work that never gets to a climax, indeed it's the music itself what makes us (the listener) be in a complete unique and amazing emotional quoin !
Superb ! Highly Recommend !

CD " Modern Chamber Music Vol. 2"
Being a fan of Darian Stavans' music for almost ten years, I find this album full, complete, like a retrospective. Indeed is a retrospective that flows from precise piano touch in the "Sonatina for Piano" to tender musical concepts the "Nocturnes" for Clarinet and Piano. The CD ends with a brilliant "Trio" for Flute, Cello and Piano that shows the remarkable musical talent of Darian Stavans.
Very happy I got the whole CD !

This site is great! I have always wondered how is made up, specially the tunes when I listen to the music. It´s outstanding to know the stories behind the experience of the compositions, in order to understand the musician or to make up my mind about the author´s inspiration. I have seen in my life the images that Darian is up to. Now I know why this tunes make me go to those memories.

I and my wife, Nuket, are university teachers in Turkey and we both teach modern Turkish literature. We are just enthusiasts of music; she loves piano music and I'm interested in minimalism. Actually, I found your albums when I was strolling through CD Baby's catalogue. We loved your music. It's calm and straight but layered, rich and contemplative, too. It is not egoistic or too demanding but enriching when you pay attention to it. Just like a strong poem. Maybe I am a very textual listener (professional deformation), yet it is a fact that our small family became a real fan of you.

The first Darian Stavans record I ever heard was a store-bought copy of Passion. I was hooked immediately and began a search of sorts to find as many of his records as I could. Those days are gone now, as I can buy any and all the records I want through his website, which by the way, is always a pleasant audiovisual journey as a stage for the artwork on Darian Stavan's productions. I find the site and cd covers very pleasing and elegant, a nice bonus for the music, always superb and enriching. I am very happy to have found it and to have discovered such a wonderful artist.

Glorious Piano music
CD: Poetic
This is the fourth of Darian's CD's I have owned and the more I listen the more I discover. This album is beautiful. Darian plays the piano himself proving himself to be not only a very talented composer but a truely talented pianist in his own right. The music is very relaxing - providing a lovely stress-free environment no matter what has been going on in your life. Each track has it's own beauty and are works that you cannot help but enjoy. I thoroughly recommend this album.

I can't help but continue to have such a vivid imagination about the
possibilities of a silent dramatization of "The Passion" with your piece "NOIR ET BLANC",
setting the tone and acting as the featured music. Perhaps I let my
imagination get the best of me! Should this work out with the church, you can take it to the bank that I'll be using this piece in such a way. Should this occur, on the different things we will be doing and give you an idea of exactly how I'll be setting the music with choreographed ballet and acting.

Beautiful guitar music
CD Els Segons Temps.
If you love music for guitar and you love the guitar being played beautifully, then this is an album worth buying. Darian Stavans has written music that is so lovely and peaceful and Jaime Narvaez plays this music with such beauty, that it is an album you will come back to again and again.

Darian Stavans has composed this hauntingly chilling piece (noir et blanc) for orchestra, piano and flute. This mesmerizing composition is one that depicts the ruthlessness of mankind and the dreaming of the heart. After first hearing this piece, I couldn't help but imagining the story of the Passion being represented in darkness with ballet dancers while Mr. Stavans piece is presented in the background. This piece does not seek a climax and I feel this is the point of it. It is up to the listener to seek a climax within this piece. To feel, to hear, to seek within themselves the music of dreams. Church musicians- consider this piece during Holy Week.
